Right thought I would start a thread about my metro turbo
Had it about 12 years now! Last ion the road in 2004 dry stored since then
Some will know I have my own garage and I restore and modify classic Fords but that's not to say I don't like other cars
My Metro is like part of my family, I never plan on selling it and want to fully restore it in a few years time, but last week I looked at it and thought well why don't I use it:)
So the plan drag it out get it running, service brakes, good going over and mot it and use it then I can restore it later on.
It's so solid and rot free as far as these go and has had no welding so far the paint has suffered but all in good time with a genuine 79k on the clock engine is good too
It was drenched in wd40 before I laid it up too
I got it out got it up on stands and pressure washed the hell out of it first off then it was carb off for a clean, new fuel pump fitted tank drained and new fuel, cooling system stripped and flushed out, new thermostat fitted
New battery and leads, new cap, rotor and plugs new oil and filter etc and got it running
Pumped wax oil everywhere for protection
So I will update the thread as and when sorry only the one pic the day I dragged it out before it was cleaned but will get some more pics up Monday
One to wet ya lips
