First up, this isn't for a car, but is for my jetski which I am just finishing reassembling after stripping it bare to be painted and to fix an engine problem...
Hope you don't mind advising on something without wheels. ;D
The problem is overspray, and dodgy masking from the previous traveller paint job (2K afaik) has left me with a white lip of paint and overspray all around the black gunwale (rub strips) seen below above the 'WaveRunner' sticker.
Here's a close up of the material. It is definitley rubber, not plastic.
Ironically, the close up doesn't show any white paint.
Any suggestions for removing it? I don't want to paint the surface, so I am wary of what to use. 2000 wet and dry/fine Scotchbrite were still dulling the surface. Thinners is a waste of time, Nitromors did get a bit of it off, but I am reluctant to use this.
Still to try: Brake fluid and G3.
There's gotta be an easy way to do this? The razor blade method won't be suitable here either. :/
Any help appreciated, as it's looking great now, and this would really let the side down - buying them new or secondhand isn't an option, as they need to come from the US, and are surprisingly expensive!
Cheers, Liam.
