its rust free of course, had cambelt replaced after its years in storage, interiour smells like new, clean no rips/tears
1.4 k series spi, full stainless exhaust which is a bit loud but its stainless & don't rot! it was bought cheap off egay so was worth fitting, decatted, cat is in the boot

really hard to price. Not a great time to sell in winter / near xmas but I think if you hold out you will get around the 1k mark your after if its got a full mot and some tax.
the early SPi engines are much less prone to the HGF!
I've sold this week a P reg rover purple 214si full MOT no tax, 83,000 miles for £500 in average condition. So if I owned your 10k 414 I would be wanting nearer the 1k mark but a wedge rover might be a bit more specalised market than the slightly newer bubble shapes.
I got the 214 with no mot so thats another rover back on the road!

yeah not overly fussed about selling at the moment if somebody wants it for £1000ovno then all would be good, it will have T&T on it when its sold as its in daily gentle use, its my fathers car & it gets a wash & wax once a week, still has factory plastic covers on the seats! smells new still!
my old man has rust proffed the underside/box sections, its had a cambelt & waterpump as my old man would'nt trust the original even though the miles are so low!

bumpty considering the milage/condition as its near mint, what are my chances of getting £1000 Slim. I'd be looking at putting it on eBay with a 'buy it now' price of £895 and a 'submit best offer' option. You'll obviously get clowns offering you £150 etc but you can automatically reject bids under your own set amount. Whatever you say about how good the exhaust is though it'll put people off if it's loud. This is the sort of car where originality and no silly boy racer bits are the selling points. *Incidentally won't a K-plate one of these mean it's an 8V K-Sealies, not a 16V? The 8V were a lot better in the HG stakes.

no its the full bakedbeans 16valver the early 16v models were actually better than the later k-series motors, i know if a turbo charged 1.4 early k-series putting out 300hp no issues at all on standard head gaskets/plastic locating dowls! suprising really
once the multipoint injection came in the k-series suffered with HG issues then later on again when they dropped it in the freelander they more or less sorted the problom out
the exhaust really is the only sticky point, my old man bought it cause it was cheap £64 for a full stainless system but its got a bit of a barry boy bacbox-he is actually looking into making it quieter but retain the low tone burble
my old man is retiring soon so has a hankering for somthing really lairy fast! hotrodder at heart you see! the rover has just been his daily for too/from work & because the exhaust is a bit loud if you put your toe down he tends to pootle about so as not to draw attention + it keeps the mpg to a really good level - which is no bad thing

Any pictures of this please? Also, where are you based? How many owners on the V5, and any paperwork etc to verify the miles?
Thanks

it had'nt got service history as the old buythat previously owned it binned all the documentation, my father is the 2nd owner, on viewing you'll see its genuine, my father has used this as his daily for about a year, possibly a little longer but its been in a garage since he bought it a few years back,we are in coventry, i'll sort some pics

these are the only pics I have at the moment, my father has had the cambelt done even though the milage is so low, we thought it best as the car had been sitting in a gargae for so long, he also had the alternator belt done as you can see in the pics it does not have power steering, its an early model rover 414, its fine once you get used to it, as i say its been in daily service for over a year up until last friday which was my fathers last day, he does'nt want it hanging around he wants it to get used & looked after, it has great JDM oldschool honda look potential! shocks are a piece of curse word to swap on these! civic coilovers fit this body type!!!! so you can drop it properly on the cheap! the reassurance of not dealing with a rusty old car has gotta be a plus point, the engine is fine also! as is the box, still has a new smell to the interiour!!!

£500 doesnt seem too ridiculous, gotta be honest though, mega low mileage usually means 'unmessed with' - if you've put a set of coilies on it, a boy racer exhaust and gone round painting the bumpers and rear panel, its not really a low-mileage minter anymore is it, its just another old rover R8 with a few barry mods.
