My project thread is about a 1991 Peugeot 309 Green. "Green" in France, is a limited series wich included many option : Open roof, power-locked doors, power windows...And green interior The engine is the 1L4 TU3AF with double body carburator, 75hp and it have about 102000km. Let's see it just after I bought it : the interior is not in very good condition Then the work begin... First of all, I take out the TU3 engine with a home made system I remove the silent-bloc then I get a little down the engine like this, the engine + the gearbox can be remove easily easily if you not forget to disconnect the Exhaust manifold Then just have to lift the engine out Put a crick under the car... that is so light right now and can be move easily ;D Remove the Exhaust manifold under the engine Then put the engine on a carriage There's a hole left After a little inspection, there a bit of rust, be nothing to important

I work a little on my 309 this weekend I cleaned up the engine bay There is some rust but not too much paint it will be a good think... Then I remove the wing Wing are screwed Under the hood Under the bumper Rear the wheel arch Then it left one in the interior Wings were stick too The best way is to heat And use hammer and screwdriver Under the wing, evething was removed, make the work easier Then remove the wing slowly to not bend it

I like the 309; I am pleased to see there is quite a lot of interest in them now.
You are doing some good work on yours - it will be in fine shape when it is finished.

This car is stereo-typical of why retro riders are so great.....taking a car that someone would scrap....stripping it to a bare shell and turning it into a work of art

It is good to see that a 309 is being given a bit of TLC. It shall be interesting to see how this pans out .
