If ever a car could be described as bomb proof....
My mate had one (a '95). He ragged it round most of europe, round most of the test track in europe and eveywhere else he went! Aside from the alarm packing up and the car never missed a beat!
As an example of toyotas faith in these. He asked for a dizzy roter and cap as part of a service and was told that they didn not stock these as they never failed.

bloody good cars. had a 1.8e cdx 1996 one. was only a budget £350 one. but never went wrong (apart from my sister somehow dropping the window out of the runner) and was fantastic on fuel. easy 40mpg. and really roomy and comfortable.

we had a 1.cdx, worst mot fail we've ever had, ever single braking component was either rusty or leaking. cost of the repair ment the car went to the short oval to die
