Just changed the brake pads on a 1998 Ford Explorer 4l V6 and the pedal just doesn't feel quite right.
Brakes are free and without the engine running or with the servo disconected the pedal feels perfect. Reconnect the servo and it goes spongey.
It wasn't like this before the pads were changed but the old ones were metal on metal and one of the pistons had come so far out it was sticking and was an absolute nightmare to retract. This makes me wonder if the seal has been damaged on the calliper. No hydraulic components have been disconnected!
