I'm looking for some help please with my fiesta xr2i
The car is fairly mint but has spent a long time sitting around and hence only has 22k on the clock.
The problems I have are:
The remote boot opening switch doesn't work.
There is a bit of rust at the bottom of the windscreen driver side.
There is only one boot strut, should there be two?
And I noticed that the sunroof may have been leaking as there is water stains on the headlining
Any help on the above issues would be greatly appreciated.

Yes should have 2 boot struts
The remote may be a fuse blown
the rust is well, if its real bad it needs cutting out and welding
the sunroof if its been standing the seals have either perished or gone dry or the drain holes have blocked up I'm guessing I reckon a few knowledgeable sorts out there will have better more in depth answers!

Check the metal contact plates on the bootlid/slam pannel on boot floor. They sometimes need cleaning! Scratch with a screwdriver to freshen up the plates. The bootlid electrics earth through the tailgate hinges, spray with WD40 to freshen up hinges. Mike.

Mike. better to use fine wet and dry to reface an electrical contact attacking with a screwdriver may make things worse.

They also burn out and melt in both the rear panel and the pins in the tailgate. Check all the pins retract smoothly and aren't wedged up in molten plastic.
