Been quite a long and adventurous journey with this so far,
Learnt a hell of a lot and still are.
Start fro the beginning,
Brought a 79 MK Cortina in August with a 2.9 bob engine, with a BOA loom.
ran like a bag of spanners, high revving, cutting out,
fittied a VSS to the T9 gearbox and loomed it up to the ecu, stopped the cutting out but the idle speed when warm was ridiculous 3000 rpm for 5 odd seconds,
took it to my buddys garage, stripped the vacuum pipes refitted in the right places they are now sound
sorted the idle control valve, the throttle pot is now the correct voltage - .9 new plugs, oil, filter,
start it up cold, runs sweet as a nut until you turn her off when warm,
start her up after a few miles, hits 3000 revs and revs are wavy cuts out when you try to pull off and you have to put your foot to the floor just to start her up.
My garage man reckons the ecu doesnt recognize the engine is warm, and is opening the choke up everytime I turn it on, kinda sounds right,
I looked for the diagnostic plug and it seem the fecker who installed it chopped the curse word
would you think if I spliced the cold start sender to a switch so I could control it work? IE manually
