testing the water with this project...
I acqured the vehicle with the intention of turning it into a track car but can't find time at the mo to complete the work same old story for everyone I guess.
It is a 2.6 turbo engine which runs like a dream only modification is a dump valve. No issues with gearbox or running gear, the interior is black leather that is in very good condition. I have started the stripping down process so lots of bits are now off the car but it has revealed a lot of welding on the front inner arches.
My intention (as it was going to be a track toy only) was/is to cut it all out and weld in roll cage style bars from the bulk head to chassis encompassing the strut mounts as we have done on drag cars before. This would dramatically reduce the amount of welding needed on the car leaving two small patches on floor and some other small minor repairs.
The body is straight enough no rust isses but paint work isn't great I have run the mop over bits of the car and it does polish up but it ain't no show car!
These cars are becoming rare and would make a great retro project for someone with the time. I am very open to swaps but the car needs to be nearer or ready for track thrashing.
pm me with what you've got and will get back to you. You would / could probably make a great deal on the selling of the parts as you can't find many of these. I don't have photos at the moment but if you want me to try and e-mail some to you I will do but you will have to bare with me just send me your e-mail address.
