Hi I am new to retro rides and have been encouraged to share my recent purchase. I have managed to pick up a XR2i in gun metal Grey with only 22,000 miles on the clock all genuine. The car is completely standard apart from a period cobra alarm.
I am currently looking at this project as a light restoration. Amazingly it has NO RUST having been undersealed so I am currently looking to restore it and clean it back up. Due to having only done about 100 miles between mots for the last year it idles a little roughly and needs a good general clean and recommission.

MK2 stopped in 89. This is an XR2I so it will be a MK3 due to the injection.

I think the previous owner was going to smooth the rear boot off or possibly had damage to the boot lid. I can't figure it out TBH the rear slam panel is original as well as the bumper and the boot floor is untouched. Can't think how you could damage the boot lid but nothing else like the bumper etc.
