After 18 months of being used as storage, finally started to get it up & running again following numerous notes & door knocks re: selling it
plan is to run around for a year or so then export back to France to use when i go over to blend with the locals, well, until i open my mouth to parlez francais ;D
first up non-starting, ignition checked & sorted.
petrol in tank, lines clear, pump off & cleaned, still no go.
new pump & we have lift-off.
fiddly little bits sorted under bonnet, loose wiring, connectors , clips etc
dash out to sort out wiring, how nice to take out 6 screws only ;D
whilst i'm there, sort out a few small holes, although need to find out where water is coming in, wiper spindles seem a favourite at moment or here maybe?
couple of other cosmetic repairs whilst the P40 was out
removed homemade panel from above windscreen which held speakers, HU, digital clock & map reading light.
spaghetti for wiring.....toggle switches galore:
1 - speaker mute
2 - power to HU
3 - to turn off display for the clock
this will go back in but with cheap mechless HU and new Sony 6"s i had lying around from the Beat build.
new headlamp fitted after i dropped one, luckily the one with flaky reflector, new sliding window seals to go in when weather improves.
X fingers it's off to mates garage for a service & mechanical checkover tomorrow
i'm sure i'll find a few other things to do before i'm finished
