	So, i'm gonna be looking to get a little more power out of my 1043cc polo engine. Not a lot, just want a few extra horses to have a laugh with. I will be looking to fit a gt cam, and a decent stainless exhaust manifold. the other things i have though about are head work, skimming flywheel and carb options. would it be worth skimming the head to increase the compression? also maybe get the dremmel on the head, port matching and smoothing and what not. is there any other head work to think about? also thinking about getting a bit of weight taken off the flywheel to get it more rev happy. Is this worth doing? also where would i take it to get it done properly? in terms of carbs, what options do I have? I'm currently running the infamous pierburg 1b3, which i have rebuilt twice, got running really nicely, with manual choke conversion, but it takes a couple of weeks to return to stuttering, hesitating, and losing torque. ive found a weber replacement which seems the easiest and apparently they're much simpler to work with. but with the other mods would it be best to try something else? maybe the weber carb for a 1.3? or ive heard people use the dtmrs from 1.6 golfs? thanks in advance for any help and advice guys!

	I wouldn't bother trying to tune the 1L engine, for the price its easier to just drop a standard 1.3 engine in which will have more power and torque to start with for a fraction of the price of a modded 1L engine. You can probably get a 1.3 engine for the price of a GT cam

	This is true I couldn't give 1.3 engines away and must of had ten at the time in the yard . by the time you have skimmed the head etc you'll of spent more money on it than buying a 1.3 gt lump Ps I can sell you a 1.4 16v for 200 .. . Jk

	this maybe true, but being 21, insurance is a big issue, and a couple of bolt on mods is less to insure tha a full engine swap. plus its not just the power i want, i want to increase my skills and learn how to do more on an engine plus the 1043 in my polo has only done 30k, and i would struggle to find such a sweet running 1.3
