Used to have a Dturbo. Cracking car. Watch out for cambelt snapping and get the coolant changed or head gasket troubles may spoil your fun.
Oh and lift off oversteer can catch you on a slippy road! Doesn't half scare people when you hang the tail out!

no the nicest diesel to drive is a BX TZD, faster than the peugeot due to being lighter, and they handle just as well in my opinion and it has even better brakes (full presure hydraulics)
But the 306 is still a good car.

I've got a HDI version at the moment and their great fun.At the front passenger side of the engine bay theres a black plastic air scoop, i extended mine with some aluminium sheet so that it gets lots of crispy cool air into the engine and on a nice cool and dry day you can feel it pull a bit better ;D

Get some vegetable oil down its neck if it's running a Bosch injector pump. Looks a very decent buy for £450. Can't believe the fuel consumption some people claim to get out of diesels though, I've only ever managed circa 45MPG.

mini maxi guage is for your oil level saves you dipping the stick. I would suggest me getting a guage like this for the wife if it avoids the need for stick dipping , but I won't in case she reads this thread! ;D :)I agree, the 306 TD is a good drive....in fact I would rate them among the best of the recent French cars all round.

Great cars. I drove a mate's slightly rough DTurbo last year and loved it. Nice handling, grunty engine and the interiors aren't too bad for a car of that era. I'd have one if I needed a cheap, econonmical hack.
I'm not convinced you'll improve it by messing with things - I know someone who did a similar DIY 'tune' on a Mondeo TD, promptly breaking it. Best leave it as standard, although it would benefit from a nice set of alloys.
