I am off to an auction at the weekend choc full of tat, but a 100e has really caught my eye. I know there is a lovely 100e 3dr on here, but what can you tell me about them in general? Is the wheel fitment 4*108? What are common upgrades?

the stud pattern is a really weird 4 stud - same as old caravans they came with the sidevalve 1172cc lump with a 3 speed, or the very late 4 door's come with pre-x flows with 4 speeders if you intend on mild mods, they are ok, but anything like a crossflow / pinto or bigger will require the bulkhead chopping and most of the running gear chucking in the bin I've often thought that a 100e, left on the stock running gear, but chopped springs front, and blocks on the back, with something like a reliant 4 pot and box, or one of the suzuki 3 pots span round to rwd would be fun though go for it!! - but don't be expecting bolt on mods edit - usual mods bck in the day were 105e anglia back axle ($$$) with classic front struts (to get them on discs) with a crossflow - most now tend to stick with 105e axle, but use mk1/mk2 escort or capri legs with rack and pinion to replace the steering box - usually with pintos or other hot 4 pots - again this needs bulkhead and tunnel chopping

They're not a cheap entry level car any more. I've always wanted to do a mini street racer one. Stock front suspension and wheels, 105e axle with wide 13" alloys and tall tyres, very hot 1740 crossflow on 45s and the bumpers removed. Or maybe I should just get mine finished as it is.

Yeah the one I looked at today was missing all of the left hand sill and most of the inner sill, I still have massive want, but I think finishing the workshop might be a better plan just now, I'll upload pics later.
