Hoping to change the cylinder head on my Fiat 127,at the moment its the standard 1050cc engine but i've got the head off a sport engine which has the same bottom end so its a straight swap.My question is this,is there some technical way of getting the timing right and all lined up when I put the new head on or is it just a case of lining up the timing marks on the current engine and head and making sure the new head is the same. Its an overhead cam by the way.
Any advice gratefully taken on board.

I take it's OHC then? If not it shouldn't be affected much

Is there a way of locking the cam? Are these belt or chain?

Someones pointed out to me that the procedure is in the haynes manual, which i've got but obviously not read close enough!Have to set the crank to TDC and then there's some markings on the camshaft pulley to line up before putting the head back on.Let you know how i get on.
