On the farm we were staying on this summer, in the West Lakes The white one is the last new tractor the farmer's dad (still living on the farm) bought in '68! Still working too he was bringing the hay in in a break in the weather, working all day long with the trailer next to it. However THIS is the coolest bit of farm kit ive seen in a long while and like the other still worked. Didnt let the boys near it with its gangster lean! A patina you just couldnt create. We all wanted a go! Maybe next year...

Don't suppose you've got a bigger pic of the Major with the digger on have you? Looks like it could be a MK1 JCB, before they build their own complete diggers.

Some amazing stuff in that collection. The 6 (if I remember correctly) wheeled atv in the pic with the dennis fire engine really catches my eye for some reason. Love old farm machinery for some reason.

That sale looks very interesting. Where was it? My dad was probably there the amount he goes to & amount of tractors etc. he's collected over the years.

That 6 wheeled thing was ex military. No idea what it was but it would be an awesome millionaires toy with enough land. It was near rand farm park 3 miles from Wragby. There was loads more stuff but my battery was dying on my camera.

The ATV looks like it may have come from Supacat.

pretty sure it was a one off mate, Think the guy was just cutting down on his collection. I cannot even begin to add up the amount of machinery he had there. There were some amazing old trucks that were crying out to be restored, some beyond repair. Theres was even a full railway, all lines, crossovers, signal boxes, and a steam engine with carriages!!

Great thread I'm lucky enough to live on a farm where every vehicle / tractor / combine ect used since the early 50's is still there in various states of repair. Quite a few of the old tractors are still running, none have been restored. I'll get some pics up shortly.

A patina you just couldnt create. Might be just me, but there is something sinister looking about that......

Not as sinister as the pile of breeze blocks tied on the front with 'packing string'....

Thanks for that. Yep, definitely a mk1 JCB before they made their own vehicles (JCB1) Quite a collectable thing depending on how early it is. I love poking round places like this, can't beat it!
