So, I had 3 goals for the 205, make it to RRG 12, Check, take it up the hill, Check and get it out on track. Well, today we reached the third goal.
Javelin run track days all over but I went for one at Woodbridge as its about 45 minutes away from home. The plan was for SWMBO and I to take the car, but she took a short term contract in Shanghai so I was left with a spare ticket. I invited my brother and sister in law along for a go, they had some reservations about ragging my car but I assured them that it was there to be abused So after a week of dramas with the brakes that led to a change of the servo, new front calipers (from a 1.9) and a trip to the garage to get them working properly we were set.
I had concerns with the blowing exhaust and the db test (105) but it was 90 so we were on ;D The track is laid out around the perimeter tracks and old HAS (Hardened Aircraft Shelter) site. A couple of good straights, and tight turns. Most importantly, no Armco or tyre walls, just bushes and small trees (a few cars went off and there was no damage which is very comforting)
So, onto the cars. It was a pretty eclectic mix with 911's, a Noble M12 and an Exige leading the moderns, Saxo's and Clio's the not so old, and Beemers, a Renault Giordini, MX-5's and a Lotus Elan doing the Retro's proud And of course my 205......
Not on track, just spectating
And finally, not on track, but reckon it could have been fun!!
I have plenty more pics which I'll upload later, this is just a taster. All I can say is that it was fantastic, I had a great time and selling the 205, is going to be nigh on impossible ;D
