I just got foolish & bought a bunch of bits for a Mugen style body kit for my Honda CRX. They were available & cheap though I don't need them and am still not yet entirely convinced I wish to fit such to my car given the image tacky, tasteless body kits & modifications have given them in general. (Would let me store rare original bumpers safely away though).
Given debate currently raging regarding the proposed EU. concept of Classic & Historic being completely original, sometimes even down to period paint styles in some countries, it got me thinking of period modifications that became so prevalent upon some cars when they were new; or nearly so, that they became iconic to the car and it could be had to find an unmodified example, you could be forgiven for thinking they came from the factory like that if you didn't know otherwise. Modifications that are arguably historic in their own right and are intrinsically & irrevocably linked to the image of the car.
(Inaccurate) Replicas of limited editions included.
for those who don't know:

& one with a Mugen kit
