I'm wondering is somebody can help me out, I want my car to look as standard as possible so I don't really want the fuel pump visible in the boot beside the fuel tank, what I was wondering was could I mount it under the rear seat and run the fuel pipe under the carpet and through the bulkhead to the fuel pressure regulator under the bonnet.
The car in question is a mk2 escort with a 2.0 pinto

Hi, I am not sure I would want pressurised fuel pipes and especially pipe connections inside the car with me. If one did leak or let go the petrol would pool under the seat. It only wants a spark from a smoker in the car or one of the pump wires.
Why not hide it under the bonnet in something that looks like it should be there, like a second washer bottle?

I think the best place for the fuel pump is below the fuel tank underneath the car, that way it is naturally primed when there's fuel in the tank, and you won't hear it so much from inside, as some facets can make there presence known . I've fitted a box around mine for protection stopping road dirt and crud getting to it with an inline fuel filter. The fuel lines are run underneath to the engine as they were from the factory with some additional metal to help protect them from getting scraped and make them a lot less visible.

Yes of course you can mount the pump inside the car BUT you must use Aeorquip or Goodridge fuel pipe,it is braided in Apperance and will do the job perfectly well.It is used in Motorsport applications so it is perfectly safe for road use
