Hi
I want to paint the wheels silver, the steel wheel have a lot of rust on them.
I would appreciate if someone can recommend some silver paint for me, lots of aerosols on the market but cannot find any brush on paint.

The best thing to be doing if they are rusty, if you have the money is get them dipped n powder coated, if not give them a good rub down with a wire brush, get as much curse word off as you can, rust treat them with Jenolite or any other decent rust proofer. and then use silver hammerite smoothrite paint. It is out there, try any good motor spares place, apart from Halfords they rob you blind

The wheels on my GTI were terrible when I first bought it. I used a wire wheel and brushed off as much as possible, used kurust, brush, kurust, brush, the used Hammerite smooth silver aerosol. It takes longer than normal paint to dry but you don't need lacquer. I let each coat go tacky before applying another. It took me a whole weekend to do them. I painted them about 8 months ago now and the finish is still perfect. Very durable stuff.
