Hey everyone.
Got a bit of a problem... car was running terrible yesterday, fitted Accuspark kit last night, tested this morning and started first time, no problem. Took it for a good run and it ran fantastic. I've not done anything to the timing however. After taking for a run, got back, stopped the engine. Tried to start the car 15 minutes later and it wouldn't start. Was turning over but not starting.
I decided to take everything off. Leads, dizzy cap, rotor arm, Accuspark kit, then proceeded to put the points and condenser back. Nothing. So I put the Accuspark kit all back on. It started. I took it for a run again, came back. Went back to the car 20 minutes later and it wouldn't start again. Dismantled the ignition system as before, reassembled with Accuspark, started fine. Took for a drive again, just got back, this time I cut off the engine and tried to start it instantly and it wouldn't.
Now, am I an idiot for not bothering with the timing, and is this probably why it's not starting? I'm not very mechanically (or electrically) minded, so any pointers would be great!
I hope I can get this working so I can make the 3 hour drive to RRG tomorrow morning!
