Alright gang, my red P100 has got to go to make a bit of space for more crud.
Its a L-reg 1.8 TD, just bought it about 3 or 4 months ago to help me with my house project - its done the job admirably. I paid £600 and have improved it significantly from how it was when i got it, but it will need some work for the next MOT hence the price. I'm taking a hit on it as I have costed it as part of my house renovation effortz, of which this truck is a tiny fraction money-wise! I just want a hassle free sale.
Good bits: Totally reliable, I have done 3 VERY heavily loaded trips to France of 1500 miles each (eat that banger rally dweebs!!) in the last few weeks and it has not missed a beat. Well i say that, the exhaust snapped on the last trip and my neighbour welded it up for me. Engine is absolutley cracking, the lad I got it off reckoned it had had a pukka Ford exchange effort in 2010 and that could be true, the engine is clean, unsmokey and does not leak so you never know. I've replaced the cambelt & pump belt and serviced it. Its comfortable and drives well, doing 40mpg. Truckman top is included. Oh and i have fitted new TCA bushes and rebuilt the master cylinder as new ones are 100% unobtanium!
Bad bits: Rust. The sills have been patched by a disinterested 5 yr-old on both sides, and it will not get through the test again without someone sorting out their lousy handiwork. Really it needs a new pair of sierra sills chopping down and fitting, and this will probably reveal manky inner sills or whatever, you know the story. Also the rear tub has a number of rust issues of varying severity, though these are not MOT critical. Finally the gearbox has a bit of a whine on it, when i got it I topped up the gear oil - it needed lots so i suspect being run low on oil is the root cause of the noise. However it has not got any worse in 5000 miles and having re-checked the oil level its not wazzing out anywhere so i have stopped worrying about that. Oh and its had an appalling respray, whoever did it really should just be killed.
Its taxed for 5 months or summert, thats not included in the price but the new owner can have it for the cash-in value if they like. NO OFFERS AT THIS PRICE - ITS MEGA CHEAP!
Theres a bit of story in my tat blog about how I got it and what i have done with it etc etc.
