2x original VW keys, along with a spare 'blank'
Earlier k-jet GTi with the quarterlights, 7 slat grill and the mirrors on the wings. Small bumper model with sunroof. Completely original and unmolested, there are NO modifications, it's just as VW intended. Even the parcel shelf is un-cut!
Has nothing electrical/assisted, just old school fun! Does have a working MAF computer though.
Was off the road for a few years, I bought it from the previous owner as a project but to be honest I'm just not using it! I've owned it since Spetember 2011 but it mostly just lives in the garage due to time and family constraints. When I do get out and drive it it always starts without issue.
In the last 300 miles (which is all I've done since I bought it!) I've done quite a few bits and pieces:
Oil and filter changed
Air filter
Rotor Arm
Distributor cap
Rocker cover gasket
HT leads
Spark plugs
New sump (and another oil change at same time!)
New radiator
Coolant change (due to replacement radiator)
Thermostat
Discs and pads all round
New caliper bolts
New rear wheel bearings
Brake fluid changed
2x window regulators
2x front road springs (though misplaced the receipt for those!)
Fanbelt
Before it was taken off the road the previous owner also:
Replaced brake flexi-hoses - 144,832
Replaced clutch cable - 143,185
Replaced brake master cylinder - 147,675 miles
Massive amount of service history with the car, looks to be pretty much full as far as I can tell! Mechanically the car is good to go.
Also have two sets of the 'teardrop' alloys to go with the car (complete with centre caps), one set have been quickly sprayed to smarten them up and the other set need refurbished. All 8 alloys have tyres of varying quality. The ones on the car at the moment (with loads of tread left) are Michelin Classics on the front and Dunplop Sport SP on the rear. The other 4 tyres are, I think, a mix of budget brands.
Also have a brand new OEM full exhaust system for the car - the exhaust isn't blowing, I just bought a replacement to do at some point! I'll include with sale at the right price.
Bad Bits:
Both front tyres lose air, I think they just need to be re-seated but I can't be sure. Some of the other alloy/tyre combos hold air no problem, I just like having the 'premium' branded tyres on there - I can swap them over if needed.
Few spots of rust to deal with - worst being the rust under the windscreen (see pic) and nearside rear wheel arch. The front valance is also a little crispy. Nothing came up on the MOT and it all looks solid underneath which is good!
Windscreen washer is on a toggle switch on the dash. Done by previous owner, assume this is due to a faulty stalk?
A low owner, well cared for and original mk2 GTi - I'm just selling as it's really not getting used and it seems a shame!
