Well the wheels i am looking at using are your standard P slots 14".
However i am debating removing the front lip from these where the weights would mount if you were using knock on weights.
this will mean the wheel is smooth all the way up to the tyre, which i am hoping to use 155,60,14 for a slight stretch.
Any advice on just how badly this may affect the wheels integrity?
Really not certain on this myself so please help folks. ;D

Can't see it being a problem so long as the bead where the tyre mounts isn't compromised.

unsure if the return lip creates a strength to that area which is my concern.

I'm not sure about this they don't have a I think lip on them and personally I wouldn't .. some wheels are designed to not have the return end from the start its not the same as cutting one off ..

Somthing to consider is the abilty of the wheel to absorb impact damage. A wheel with pot hole damage would have a distortion to the rim at the point of impact. If you take some of the strength away from this area you may find the rim may crack or the tyre may come off.

I can't see it being a problem. Not sure how the tyre would fall off, the wheel rim would still be the same size just not have the step in it.

Hi, should have been more specific. I meant it may crack or the tyre could pop off if you inadvertently hit a pot hole.

No disrespect to anyone on here (there is a lot of knowledge) but if there was any doubt, I wouldn't run them. Even if you get a majority on here saying it will be fine, is it really worth the risk?
