I am in the process of fitting a 2.3 galaxy engine in my Morris minor and currently splitting my wiring harness into whats needed and what to bin. what I need to know is there any way of removing the pats system from the system. I don't want to go down the route of a mega squirt or other after market ECU as I am totally skint.

Post 96ish are built into the ecu on the mondeo and escort so i assume it's the same on the galaxy?

Is the pats system a key based anti theft?
On BMW's it can be removed for about £200, no idea if Fords are the same, a bit of gogglefu may help. Or again, on BMW, people just get the matching key, relay and wire them in, hidden under the dash, but start the car using the older key switch.

Get onto one of the banger racing forums, non immoboliser ECU's are pretty popular for racing.

Or just stick the PATS gear up under the dash with the key selotaped to the sensor.  |
