I'm thinking about buying a cheap set of NewOldStock Koni shock inserts to suit my '79 Honda Accord and wondered if these will still be appropriate for my future plans for the car.
I really would like to lower it, probably 2" front, 1" rear, and possibly later fit a newer & possibly 20kg lighter engine (Just "won" an Ebay '90 Integra B18 engine for $5.50! ~ gave $50 anyway after he even offered to deliver).
The original struts are sealed so will need cutting open, gutting and a hole drilled in the bottom to attach the Koni inserts so I would also consider trimming the springs or the fitment of an adjustable aftermarket coilover conversion kit for the 50-51mm Strut bodies to better allow for future options. The car having simple strut suspension at all corners, FWD & approx 930kg kerb weight.

Am I on the right track or should I be adapting a cheap, complete aftermarket coilover spring/strut set for something else to fit? (Hubs/spindles simply clamp around the bottom of the strut)
