Ive had a look on the internet but cant seem to find the offset for a mk1 clio?? anyone know?

You'll struggle to get anything big on the rear if you lower it. 6.5J ET37 max if you don't want the tyres to scrub on the inner arches.
Lowering is easy. Find a pair of 1.8 16v front lowering springs and chop a couple of coils off. Rear is torsion bar so if its not seized they're free lowering.

They might be OK would have to try. The inner arches are really narrow at the top so the wheels tend to scrub on the inside of the arch. The lower offset should help on the inside, just depends whether they'll fit in the arch.
