I remember these things being the thing to have in the early 80s on anything from a jacked up Mk1 Escort through to a fully fledged Yank muscle car. I was surprised to see that they are still available and wondered what people think of them nowadays, do they still cut the mustard? I always hankered after owning one back then (I was 11 at the time!)

I had one of these on the end of a straight through pipe on my crossflow powered Anglia, lots of years ago. It was loud. I was young. I liked it.
Probably wouldn't now, though.

Had one on a mini. Not the most refined note, but loud and shiny for cheapness.

Some days you just need to take a grinder to an inanimate object, just to make your day a tiny bit better!!

love them, I really like aftermarket backboxes but not the modern baked bean cans fitted to a lot of corsas and saxos. the cherrybomb is the perfect compromise.

I love them. I have one on the Civic and the Galant, both 'exhausted' by Rich. The Galant is a particular work of art... . do very little in the way of silencing- what more could you want?! They muffled Rich's 'shoutings' very well at fiddy two haha

This was one of the vids that made me buy this particular scimitar! Each bank of the v6 had a pre-silencer cherry bomb (about 2/3 the length of a normal one) and one at the back, for a total of 4 cherries

I've always thought of Cherry Bombs as being old-school hot-rod mufflers, from reading Hot Rod as a kid. For me, there's only one true 1980s muffler, which no Pro Street car would be complete without. The mighty Supertrapp, preferably the longest ones available, fitted in pairs and sticking out about 10cm from the rear bumper.

I think they should be one of those "you're-not-a-true-petrolhead-until..." types things. Everyone should have one at some point as they are, as has been said, awesome and for winners. Fact.
