So yeah. I'm trying to ID some carbs as fitted to my type 3 - the last person who thought they knew said they were Porsche 356 carbs, but that sounds a bit suss as I thought they used Solex's, and also it doesn't actually tell me what they are. These are they: Stamped just with "Weber" and "Made in Italy" as far as I can tell, no other markings. First person to tell me they're Webers get a clout

These biometric carb ID's are a threat to civil liberties and I deplore them.

Isn't that some numbers towards the bottom of the LH choke?

looks like an IDF witha RAM Flo Filter, probably from a 1.5 alfa.
If you want to sell the carbs, let me know
Porsche carbs were Solex PII 40's, I've a set of em on a 1600 and they work OK.

Yeah, having googleimaged IDFs they're pretty similar looking, apart from without the grease, so I'll go with them. I just didn't know how many different types of Webers there were. Do i want to sell them? Not likely matey, they sound fuppin' awesome! Suppose the only way to see what size they are is to take them off and measure them is it? MrB... the 'numbers' stamped on it is actually where it says "WEBER"... the other side is the 'Made in Italy" at the bottom of the choke.

Somewhere on the body of the carb it will be stamped IDF and the size of the carb, then some other info At a guess they're either 36's or 40's
