Classic and Sportscar Action day at Castle Combe,
Castle Combe is just down the road (M4) to me, went to this for a day out with the wife. Didn't really intend to take lots of photos but ended up with ~160 (not all here). A really good low key day out.
And now the images, I'll attempt a commentary...
Good to start the day with a smile...

I parked between Quarry and the paddock, first trip was to the paddock, just as this was going on track (until it was black flagged for dropping oil), sounded wonderful and did make it back out later.

and into the paddock, the Jag was glorious and went out on track but broke

My favorite of the day, replica BTCC BMW 320 saloon (although I think it was based on a 328, and really needs the side rubbing strips removing). Just like the scalextic car I've got. One of the fastest cars on track, along with a couple of Skylines an Imp (picture later), and a E28 M5. It was giving charity rides and was out most of the time.

A quick stop by the track, somebodies either having a laugh or really has been a naughty boy...

out of sequence shot for the vision impaired... He (or she I guess) was on track a lot, and going well if a bit slow)

Sprite, the key in the boot went round ;D (the only people being mucking about on the parade laps were in the Chrysler Crossfires...)

I like Dolomite's

This was just before an epic save, he missed the tyre wall by about 6". There were a lot of red flags during the day but not as much exuberant driving as at the Forge action day last year.

Lots of MX5's there, this one looked the part went well and was for sale (£1,800)

Audi Quattro Sport, epic car but being driven conversationally should have been one of the fastest cars there.

back to the paddock, car park.
I don't like Mini's but this looked so right

if you must have a Rover 75 get one of these, there were half a dozen or so there and they sounded awesome and went well.

All in all a great day out, next visit is for the super-saloons (22:Aug) and maybe the rally day (18:Aug, day before RRG, be good for a day trip).
Oh and I'm getting encouragement from my wife to get a track car (probably MX5).
