RR is a great forum for inspiration and education. But I must say that all these posts that are quick to point out when someone new does not follow the standard operating procedure for posting a topic are rather tiresome. Why not just send a friendly PM? I wouldn't be surprised if many folk after receiving such a welcome are less inclined to return and contribute.

Tiresome and also not representative of the views of the moderating team. I wouldn't suggesting sending a PM either. Quite simply, if you don't like the way a question is asked, don't answer it. In this particular case, I found the initial question to be perfectly reasonable. To answer the question, I can't think of any supplier for those wheels. They used to be relatively common but sadly trying to find a set these days (or a manufacturer) is difficult as their description brings up too many variables (steel 8 spoke, Minilite style, 13" steel wheel) which don't narrow down your search at all! If you do find a set they're likely to be rusty! Here's a car on chrome steels to keep the thread interesting!

They were branded as Interceptor rims in the UK from memory. Quite popular in the early 90's.

I don't think you'll find a set now apart from maybe the odd one on ebay.. I had a set of interceptors and they were by far the heaviest wheel I've ever witnessed, they mustve been made from 1/8" plate!!!
Maybe look at getting them aerocoated if the chrome is going bad?

Ita a polo Openair 6n2 which was made 99-01 but not many made with the ragtop and if it was it was a black one so mine having a red factory fitted one makes it quite rare , Plus I'm the only Polo by the looks of it with these rims : ) , Would look good on a MK 1 escort agreed ...

They were branded as Interceptor rims in the UK from memory. Quite popular in the early 90's. they have Drag 13x6 stamped on the inside under the tyre plus BMW safety stickers on each wheel so i think it was an optional extra for the BMW 2002 ?

They are really heavy perfect for the 120mm drop i have on the coilovers will take some pot holes to damage these lol .

Thanks all I will look at the Interceptor's some more but the DRAG 13x6 stamp must be something ? Just maybey one day they might be worth a re-chrome and putting away ? A better pic of the car I'm sure you will all agree that the price will only go up on this model polo ? www.flickr.com/photos/paulmorrison/7449977454/in/photostream
