Hi all, as usual there will be some wise guy or girl on here who knows the origin or meanings of this item.
I popped around to a friends place on the way home last night and he showed me this brass hanging candle holder.
The casting is quite rough, it was black when he got it in a charity shop, and gets better every time he cleans it.
You will note there are some birds at the top, some small crosses on various places and also the bigger waggon wheel type bits.
The other interesting bits are what looks like double headed eagles (Russian like) and also the man at the top, who is holding what looks like a mask in his one hand, the other has a long object.
Does anyone know where it could originate, or the meaning of the item.
Parts of it swivel on forward or sideways planes too.
Sorry about photo quality from my mobile phone.
Answers as always in here, and I hope the mods will let us see if there is an answer.
