	Hi all, as usual there will be some wise guy or girl on here who knows the origin or meanings of this item. I popped around to a friends place on the way home last night and he showed me this brass hanging candle holder. The casting is quite rough, it was black when he got it in a charity shop, and gets better every time he cleans it. You will note there are some birds at the top, some small crosses on various places and also the bigger waggon wheel type bits. The other interesting bits are what looks like double headed eagles (Russian like) and also the man at the top, who is holding what looks like a mask in his one hand, the other has a long object. Does anyone know where it could originate, or the meaning of the item. Parts of it swivel on forward or sideways planes too. Sorry about photo quality from my mobile phone. Answers as always in here, and I hope the mods will let us see if there is an answer.

	maybe a show case of talent from the brass casting company like for an exhibition, trade show or commissioned for customer whatever its a real gem of a find

Still, would be interesting to know where it originated from or what it signifies. Another forum commented that the guy in the middle may be hulding the head of an enemy and a sword in his two hands. I have never seen anything like it, so like it for that reason only.

	not really sure, but the eagles definately look very european, prussian, eastern european, and the crosses also look eastern european, russian orthodox etc... probably all wrong, and stand to be corrected by the more knowledgable out there!
	Retroless at the moment... but on the hunt for something old!

	The eight-spoked wheels look to me like dharmachakras, which I think makes them probably Buddhist or possibly Hindu. I would guess that it's most likely made in India.
