I like it and your plan for the engine! Loads of pics are always good so you've started this thread well I was thinking of an e30 myself as a daily, you obviously have a soft spot for them so needless to say you'd recommend it but how do you find it modern traffic etc? Sorry to jack your thread. The black wheels really suit the four door against that body colour, are you sticking with the 15s or are they an inbetween wheel?

E30s are ideal everyday run abouts mate, they are good on petrol really easy to maintain and parts are just as easy to find as an e36. They don't drive as nice as an e36 though. the 15s are just temporary will change them eventually (might do a 5 stud conversion maby next year after the engine swap and get staggered alpinas or similar..) ;D

Your not far from my missis folks Nice E30, and I thought mine was clean, how hard is it to fit the coilovers i've got a 325 and want to lower it but not sure how difficult and don't really want to chop my springs my one don't chop your springs its not worth it on an e30. I paid £200 for my coilovers off ebay brand new. Its really easy to fit them for the front just slacken but don't remove the centre nut on the top of the strut, take out the struts as a whole, compress the springs, take the top mount off and unscrew the shock absorber then refitting the coilovers is the same but in reverse. For the rear you need to remove the shocks, drop the diff a little by taking the bolt out of the diff mount make sure youve got a jack under it though, this is so you can get the rear springs out. the the same but in reverse again. I'm not a mechanic but i managed it all in a couple of hours
