Just wondering if anyone on here had a clever solution or knew of a good product for this.
I have a trackcar which is fully stripped out, so no carpets. I want to put a pair of matts in the front as the footwells tend to get full of curse word all the time, and look very scruffy. I am repainting the inside soon, so want to keep it tidy, especially as i am planning to put it on the road.
Is there a solution to keeping matts in place in a stripped out car?

try sticking Velcro to the floor and the back of the mat and it should stay in place unless the floor gets totally soaked...

Griptape - as in the stuff you get on the top of skateboards. edit - after a quick googling I see it is available in all sorts of awesome patterns, colours etc and even with amazing illustrations on. Lightweight too so it looks like a proper win to me

i did think of griptape, but not sure it would help with the mess that builds up off shoes etc. What I am after really is removable matts, thought of velcro too, but in my experiance the sticky bacing peels off in the end.

I did think of griptape, but not sure it would help with the mess that builds up off shoes etc. just give it a hoover and when it gets old and starts looking tatty replace it, it's cheap enough. Anyway I thought I'd had a brilliant idea there Alternatively you could get some magnetic plates - like the sort people signwrite on vans and stick griptape or mats or whatever you like to them. or you could just checkerplate the floor - but that's a bit

Skateboard griptape is fantastic, bit grippier and no damaged paintwork on the floorpan. Here's some in my Nova:

...thought of velcro too, but in my experiance the sticky bacing peels off in the end. Simple. A velcro strip across the bottom & top edges, one in the middle. Rivet each strip to the floor and they won't be coming up in a hurry. Simply peel the carpet mats out to vacuum them...replace. Like I say, simple.

I have no carpets in the Vitesse and all I do when it's dirty is remove the drain bungs and simply wash it out The floorpans are painted with nothing more than white 'Smoothrite' and in the last 9 months use there's barely a scratch on them (Ok, so technically that's my kids washing out the floors, but you get the idea)
