I remember visiting that yard (probably a year or so before it closed), was fascinating to walk round. I was looking for turbos, John (?) kept trying to flog me jag engines - he had a barn full of them. I got chatting to him and he showed me round his mad daily Google could only find me this image of it According to the site I have pinched the pic from it is a 1972 Leyland FG350 chassis with a Commer TS3 two-stroke diesel engine Interesting looking show edit - in fact is that it hiding in the back of this pic?

Yes it was there. Not sure if he still owns it or not though. Still see the car at plenty of shows with its OIL number plate.

I feel inadiquate I don't own a vehicle with its own vice and oxy equipment on-board. You must rectify this..... Alternator-based TIG welder on the project?

Most excellent photos!
I would love to see a vice becoming the next "scene" modification. I can see it now slammed and stanced Corsa C complete with bonnet bra and vice.

Sierra - here we go again! He has an illness, it's not his fault.

It was funny as I've seen lorry mounted vices before but usually on the sides behind cabs etc, but two lorries at this small show had bumper mounted vices. I'll fit one to my Transit!!

I've seen farmers around here with them mounted on their ATVs, they call them vice quads... ...I'll get my coat I love this. Austin 7-based?

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

At first I wondered why they had vices on their bumpers, then I wondered why I don't.

I love this. Austin 7-based? Looks bigger than that to me. A top place to wander about for a while I bet. Also now want a vehicle that would suit its own vice.

Actually I feel like a bit of a dumbarse now asking a question about a car that has a url printed on the bonnet Here is an advert for the car in question, should anyone have £12,500 to spare Really attractively proportioned.

I modified a Ford Orion back in '98 by attaching a vice to it! It was a parts donor and I welded the vice onto the boot lid as I needed to use it but didn't have a work bench to bolt it onto. Sadly I neglected to take a photo of it.

Scammell Mountaineer: quite a lot of want. Bedford RL Recovery: pretty large quantities of want.
Mentalist Commer 2-stroke engined, ambulance chassis'd open bodied thingy: Pure, unadulterated want.
You weren't wrong, that's a fantastic selection of motors for a small show.

Ah ha Can anyone identify what make the engine is though? Apparently he had two lorries(a clue). One got wrecked or broken or something, he used the engine out of it and put it into this. Far too much time on his hands!!

Hmm, 84 gallon diesel tank capacity! That would be cheap to fill up then! Is the engine a Cummins?
