Great day out. Thank you so much for your HBF Club day out! great to see everyone and everything. I have just said that my faves were the rally TR8, and the grey Cresta, but that baby turd coloured RS2000 was most likely my fave. Even Dugong liked it!! Yumz0rs

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Great pictures guys - thanks for sharing.
I guess it is a sign of the times when an M-reg Mondeo is considered show worthy (and rightly so).
I'm not sure what my car of the show would be, too much choice. Polonez, Astra GTE and TR7 rally rep scoring highly.
I notice though that the Polonez and MK3 Escort have very similar reg's.:
B333 LAJ - Ford Escort B933 SAJ - FSO.
;D

The (Mk1) GTE was stunning and the owner was really sound. He'd had it quite a while and has been buying up NOS genuine parts 'just in case'. As ever at Cholmondely there was a really good mixture of cars, it's always a really good show. I couldn't decide on a favourite but the Farina estate, both FSOs and the Citroën DS (all in our area!) were fantastic. Before I forget I'd like to publically thank Marcus One Four Apetures for very kindly bringing me an eBay purchase down with him. Very nice touch and much appreciated, cheers Dave.

I guess it is a sign of the times when an M-reg Mondeo is considered show worthy (and rightly so). I'm glad you said that, now were on Mk4 or summat it is getting on a bit. 17ish years infact, not suitable for classic insurance though, I tried and tried. Not yet... It was the Marmite divide of opinion on the M word that made me start NoSkoolJustCool.com. The other pests are still in pieces so was the best I could do for Chumly and 2012 season, though the battered Xantia would have fitted in better on the HBF club stand, it will be the Cortina next year when I get it back.... .... ... and in one piece!

I see what you're saying. When I first saw it I was did think it was a bit of a joke but then when you consider its 17 years since they were launched and they are quite retro by today's standards. Glad someone is keeping one in a nice stock form.

I defo notice Mk1 Mondeos on the road now, they're getting properly rare!!! Defo worth preserving a decent one, I would say a 2.0 Si hatch is probably the pick of the bunch. Good work Re-an.
