As usual, the plans and good intentions didn't last long I recently started a new job and was looking for a cheap room to rent that was closer to work. Found something that was rough but in the right area. Got the keys last week and also some good ABOLUTLEY FANTASTIC news ;D ;D ;D It has a garage - that's mine ;D The room that was advertised is part of a flat, as there's nobody else there the whole flat is mine ;D It has a "workshop" (2 actually ) ;D The place is scheduled to be flattened for redevelopment sometime so anything inside is mine to use / donate / give away as I like (form an orderly que please...) Lots of handy worktops to strip/rebuild bits of car on Also lots (LOTS!) of storage space for all those useful spares that are part of classic ownership ;D The builders should be here next week to make it more habitable and have a skip to the clear junk. Questions : * There's plenty of pub gas bottles (mig c02, also some green - maybe c02 mix?) any idea if there's anywhere I can hand these in for a finders fee ? * Beer kegs, alloy (all empty unfortunately), I know these need to go back somewhere, any idea of where I can get a finders fee ? * Aircon unit (from the beer cellar), seem to work fine, wall mounted, self-contained, about 6ft long. Any idea where to advertise it ? PS - if you recognise it or know where it is - please don't spoil the surprise by announcing the name of the pub or the area

that is cool! pictures of the garage and workshops needed as for all the bar stuff, you could probably sell a lot of the bar equipment as in taps, cooler etc privately as some rich person wanting a man cave would probably want them! For the kegs and gas bottles id say either ask another local pub where theirs go back to/ask for the contact number or ring up diageo etc as they supply a lot of pubs and own guiness, carlsberg etc in the uk with all that sort of stuff! if you don't reuse the bar yourself and you are allowed to remove it you could well sell it as well elsewhere for other pubs/resteraunts etc.. contact some of those salvage like companies seen on quest!

that is cool! pictures of the garage and workshops needed One of the many reasons I love this forum - where else would you get a conversation that goes : "I've just taken over a pub !" "We want pics of the garage and workshops" ;D ;D ;D Not quite long enough for 2 cars - close but ... Workshop1 ( aka the beer cellar ) - note spare aircon unit on the wall Workshop2 - with spare commercial soft drinks dispenser Other pics in better light than the original Bar number 1 Bar number 2 Many thanks for advice about disposing of the stuff, it's not something I 've had the option of before

Hi, I work for Carlsberg UK & Diageo do own Guinness, but not Carlsberg etc. The people you need to contact to collect all the empty Keg/Cask would be Kegwatch. They deal in retrieving empty Keg and Cask for all brewers. They charge the brewer a fee, so I'm sure they must pay a reward. Here's the web link to thier site www.kegwatch.co.uk/ I hope this helps, Kev.

Workshop1 ( aka the beer cellar ) - note spare aircon unit on the wall Workshop2 - with spare commercial soft drinks dispenser That "aircon unit" is probably not all the cellar cooling system, there is normally another box outside the cellar (probably on an outside wall or a roof - follow the refrigeration lines to find it) and possibly a control box. I may know someone looking for a cheap cooler, you might be a bit far from him though. That soft drinks dispenser is a post mix machine I don't think Keg Watch pay a finders fee

Oh well, they are the people you need to contact about getting rid of them though.. ...unless you are going to let the tat man have 'em? (Which is illegal, by the way). Even if you contact the brewers that own them, they'll tell you to phone Keg Watch.

Oooh, I reckon some of the guys over on Jims beer kit might be interested in any beer engines and associated flash coolers etc.
Damn you on having the coolest accommodation ever.

I may know someone looking for a cheap cooler, you might be a bit far from him though. That soft drinks dispenser is a post mix machine Had a look around outside yesterday and found the cooler matrix outside that goes with the bit indoors - all looks complete, I have had it powered up but don't fancy checking it cools the place - at least not until I get some heating sorted Open to offers, planning to ring the folk who have a service sticker on it and see if they want it back Big, heavy, wall mounted above head height, full of nasty stuff - definitely for sale as "buyer to remove" Post-mix machine ... errm ... is that good news or just junk that looks interesting ;D Landlord is turning up sometime this week with a skip so I'm happy to let him sort out the kegs. Just wanted to get in first if there was a finders fee on offer I keep finding more kegs as I explore further into the place, I think about 15 so far Also about same for c02 gas bottles, some are fine for mig welding others are c02 mix so no use PM quick if you're looking for a pub cO2 bottle Thanks for all the suggestions, it's much appreciated

The only beer tap left is Guinness - but it looks like the bar unit is complete with 2 black boxes (coolers? ) still attached. Nice conversation point but not sure if landlord will leave them or take them when he's doing the refurb

Post-mix machine ... errm ... is that good news or just junk that looks interesting ;D Errmm it will have a value on eBay, no idea how much though there are other bits that go with it - have some diagrams I have shamelessly hotlinked off other sites ;D In a pub the dispenser behind the bar is probably a gun The insulated cluster of pipes going to the dispenser is known as a python ;D

I'de get those kegs taken in for scrap! You've been told they are yours to dispose of. No they belong to the brewers, not the person who owns the pub. They even have it stamped on them. I wouldn't risk it. Kegwatch, may take the gas bottles also. But maybe BOC will take them off your hands.
