I'm liking that white v8 I've decided to attempt to repair her, seeing as the outer body is not that bad I'm going to weld it on top of the merc 190 rolling chassis. ;D Pics later today.

1600 Victor ..... drop in a V8 and recreate the car I never should have sold.... I know that exact feeling..... Had a couple of rust free FDs years ago, and a rotten VX 4/90 with a Blydenstein Stage 3 lump. Bonnet wobble at 140mph was distracting.... A 2.0 SL was the one I regret. Was going down the Nascar themed route with it, B-posts moved back, stretched doors, V8, manual etc, etc. Never finished it, but did get it running / driving / smoking the tyres ;D. Then the unit I was in was due for redevelopment and lack of funds meant it was broken up. The engine found it's way into a Chevy Monte Carlo, the box went into a TR8 clone and the shell got fragged. I've spent the last 15 years wanting another one, although a FE would also get some naughty treatment ;D

jesus that is bad. Back axle and front clip are worth preserving - serious upgrades for basic Victor. When I did my Chevy V8 one I used Ventora back axle and front spindles/brakes/etc. If I thought I might turn another 1600 up as a V8 project I'd have 'em off you ;-) You wouldnt want these, they are rusted solid. I'm told the car was stored in a container for 10 years, but the roof of said container was leaking. When they pulled the car out it looked like this. The bonnet is still here, and we have got the engine too. But if I do end up repairing this I wont be putting the original 3.3 back in. The front clip and axle would find a welcome home here as well !!!!

Suddenly my own rust problems seem to have almost disappeared! The horror! Good luck though.
