1984 Porsche 944, 2.5l 8v lux model in Black with the pascha trim. I've had the car over a year now and I've loved owning it. In my ownership its gone from sitting in a barn with a blown engine with no mot or tax to having a complete overhaul (please see my build thread).
The cars an early lux model which was the lightest of them all as it has manual seats, no central locking and no PAS along with 160hp it goes well.
The car has an extensive history file dating back to day one, in fact I've not owned a car that's had such a comprehensive history before. It had obviously been loved until the previous owner got his hands on it!
some of the history and 3 sets of keys
- Exterior:
Overall the bodywork is in good condition, its straight and paintwork shines nicely, all glass in perfect condition, there are some stone chips on the wing mirrors and some other minor blemishes/dings around the car as expected for car of this age.
The front end has been repainted and the wings were replaced with rust free ones. There is a small amount of rust appearing on the sills (non structural) typical of the 944, as well as a small amount around one of the boot locks.
The alloys on the car are Rial 16x8j's and in my opinion look great with loads of polished lip and good Toyo rubber - one tyre is getting a little low. (the original recently refurbed cookey cutters that also have good rubber on are included in the sale too)
Pop up headlights work instantly and smoothly, all other lights in perfect working order with no damage.
- Interior:
The interior is black with the pascha trim. For its age its in good condition with little wear as it was owned and driven by a woman for most of its life. The passenger seat has a split on the seat were the threads have parted through age. The rear seats look unused. The spare wheel and all tools are present and in good condition.
The dash is uncracked and in VGC as are the carpets.
The car features electric windows, electric wing mirrors (currently not working), electric tilting/removable sunroof panel, electronic boot release, alarm and immobiliser and Kenwood CD player.
Folding rear seat backs with integrated luggage cover, leather cover for the removable roof panel is in excellent condition as are the tie-down straps.
- Mechanical:
The car as documented in my build thread has had many new parts in the last 1000miles most of which were genuine. As well as the cleaning and painting of many of the components to near concourse spec.
The engine has been completely rebuilt (using a good low mileage bottom end with no scoring to the aluseal in the bores) It has had both cam belt and balance belt replaced, new water pump, a complete seal and gasket kit (inc head gasket) the clutch was replaced with a like new item too. A new fan swith was fitted too.
The head was also overhauled - it had a skim, all new valve stem seals, and the valves were cleaned lapped and ground as well as a genuine gasket and seal kit. The lifters were replaced and it had a full service. (receipts included).
Now the engine starts and performs without fault and runs smoothly, there are NO oil leaks.
The car drives fantastically, and the handling is as good as the reviews say it is. It had some new bushes on the front end and has Bilstein dampers on the rear too.
You can achieve over 35mpg on a run!
Car Passed the last MOT with no issues
Overall it's a great modern classic in great condition that is a joy to drive, whilst also reliable and surprisingly practical to use as an everyday car.
Please take the time to look through the build thread to fully appreciate the amount of work that's gone into the car.

Its not perfect and I've tried to be as honest as possible when describing the car.
Its great value for whats on offer. There isn't much work left to do to get the car back to A1 condition, unfortunately with a pending house move I cant afford to keep her however I will be back in a 944 in the future.
Any questions please ask, viewings welcome.
I'm happy to do a deal on the price with out the Rial wheels.
I have some lowering springs for the front and some MO30 951 (turbo) rear antiroll bars that can go with the car too.
Thanks for looking
James
