I saw one fitted to a Porsche 928 back in the eighties. I was about 8 years old then and it was amazing. To be honest, thinking about it, I'm not sure how it would ever have worked.....

They are apparently not kind to records, they use a fair bit of needle pressure to resist jumping.

^ There are companies that will cut you a 16 2/3 rpm 7" disc for your Chrysler Highway Hifi. For a price...
I understand that the same speed was sometimes used for audiobooks etc. to increase the playing time - abviously at the expense of fidelity - which is why so many domestic autochangers had a 16rpm setting.
