It is a 1957 Austin A35. Has a rebuilt 1098 with a rebuilt ribcage gearbox. The suspension has been lowered on the front left side, but have found that the rear leaf springs have had a few leafs taken out to lower the back end. The right side leaf spring is actually bent upwards so need renewing.
I intend the car to be a little mental and will do leather interior and will paint it almond green.
I have a rebuilt 1098 motor with pockets to mount up a 1275 head. I have a close ratio straight cut gearbox that will make the car a little more aggressive.
Was really lucky to find this car here in the US. I wanted one for a while, but really didn't want to import one. I already imported 4 Minis and an Alfa Romeo so the enema that is the Department of Motor vehicles of California wasn't one I wanted to experience again
One of my Mini club members knew the seller of the A35 and sent me the contact information. The car was two states away in Seattle ,in Washington state approximately 1,500 miles away. Thankful for auto transporters I was able to handle everything by phone and had the little booger delivered.
Her name is Leela.
