The run we had from Cambridge to Stowmarket, was a lot more spirited than the stow to Aldeburgh sectiion. Heres a some vids I took on the Cambridge to Stowmarket section - just trying to upload the 3rd (which is being a biatch). Trying to keep up with 4 subarus intent on blasting suffoklk countryside.

I don't think it looks that fast... You can work it out from the white lines (which sometimes, the Alfa appears to be on the correct side of!) Looks like fun, a 1300 Alfa being given a good workout (small engines, light cars, lovely) - not sure I'd be maintaining those speeds past quite so many side roads/farm entrances, but I know what sort of pace I'd maintain in the Borders, hardly in any position to criticise a bit of pace on a rural NSL road in good conditions. Other than "racing line". Racing line on the A7 north of Galashiels stood a good chance of getting an HGV on the limiter coming towards you, and at least once there's a hedgerow with an obscured red car. And where's the video of the 3-wheeler Morgan! Staring at the back of some Imprezas is dull when all the good stuff is behind!

That looks like a accident waiting too happen, how fast were you lot going? I'd have been a bit more cautious in the villages, but on the open road they have decent sight lines most of the time and are optimising them. I've been on/organised a few similarly spirited drive outs but not sure I'd want to post videos on youtube.

To be honest, we stick religiously to 30 & 40mph speed limits, the camera angle is quite narrow, so the sense of speed is heightened.
But that all aside, the little car got a damn good thrashing & got many compliments for keeping the pace.

I'm not one to preach about speed, I grew up in the countryside and used to nipping along a bit and I also know the camera can give an illusion of going fast, It was the crossing of the white lines to the other side of the road on the bends that concerned me, what if a motorcyclist was coming the other way on the bend or another car was shoeing it a bit on the corner, The results could have been catastrophic, and i speak as someone who's known bikers to be killed on junctions like your passing at speed.
The Alfa did sound sweet though.

Max 30 in 30's, 40 in 40's, 50 in 50's but when the NSL sign appears it's whatever you feel comfortable with on a PH run (well that's the PH EA rules)
bearing in mide the company you were with you did well.
Nice to meet you Jamie and the Alfa really did sound glorious
