hello i have been given a Casal m70, it has no engine and a few parts missing and after a internet search, pretty much looks like there are no spares outside Portugal. I'm not into shiny things, I like (real) rust and dints added to the look. So I have 2 options: :Option 1: strip it down, fix / remove and structural rust / damage to frame, make brackets to take a pitbike engine, put all rusty parts back on, add knobberly tyres, change the bars and ride :Option 2: leave it in barn and drink beer, while looking at pictures of it. pictures: only had it a day and I'm skint ...... and have a unfinished campervan taking up all my garage [/quote]

If enough room then a Honda C60/70/90 or one of the Chinese clones is going to easiest / cheapest route for an alternative engine. I've just measured my C50LAC lump and it's 16" from rear engine mount to top of head. A scrap C50/70/90 would provide the lower section of the frame to make a mount adapter to fit the Casal. If Suzuki then look at K10, K11, B120 and such 1960's / 70's small capacity two strokes

Nice object! I once put Casal K-190 engine in a Zundapp, equal engine mounts. So a engine from Z or a Chinese version of it might fit right in

casal copied the engine casing from Zundapp. casal bikes were imported in the UK and across Europe in the 70/80's, they must have scrapped and cruched everyone, because I can't find any spares lol. information from Wikipedia haha

Could be a neat conversation piece and ornament too.
Little one seems impressed.
