Yesterday my car wouldn't start after work. I had a volt meter with me so I check the voltage and it was a bit low at 12.3V.
Luckily, I got a push start from the colleagues.
I drove straight to the shop to get a new battery, which has a higher amp rating as the old one. So that is good.
I put the new one in, the car started as normal, drove it a bit and parked it.
This morning it started fine, drove to work and after work it wouldn't start.
I already had a sneaky feeling so I brought a jump starter with me. However, that didn't made the car to start.
Got another push start, which did work.
Tonight, I checked the spark plugs (could do with a replacement) and the battery connectors (looked good). Battery is charging with 13 volts so that looks good.
Off course, it started every time I tried now.
When it doesn't start. It actually turns over and the engine runs for a few rotations, but at a very low rpm. When you try to put some throttle, it doesn't pick up.
So what to look for?
It is a Peugeot 106 1.4 with single point injection and dizzyless ignition.
