For sale is my 72 Avenger had it a few years and have done the folowing. New sils and jacking boxes New exaust The car I think has been a show car at some point in its life as some of the engine bay has been chromed. Undersealed from new and also has a factory fit sun roof and still has an Atrac in ! Would make a nice standard car or drop a zetec in as I have done with one of my avengers The pictures were taken when I colected the car and the car now stands on steel wheels. I have lots of other Avenger stuff that can be sold with the car and sunbeam lotus alloys. Only for sale as I need space. £900

More pix added The car is a 1500. As you can see below strut tops as spot on usual weak spot on avengers and underneth is also good. These were just taken and shows the car as it is now. I have had avengers for years and its one of the best shells I have seen in years. Graeme

Sorry for interrupting your recent forum but am new to the site. I followed the links regarding your Zetec Avenger and am contemplating a similar conversion venture after bending another valve and push rod in my ex avenger racer. Any info regards Sump, cooling and clutch would be greatly appreciated. Saw the nice exhaust manifold from 105 speed on your car, was this a one off or did the anglia manifold fit. Cheers, Paul.

Hello Graeme, could you tell me what sump you used on the zetec engine and if you had to alter the crossmember. Also are you running a four speed or 5 speed box. I know on the escorts have to use the water rail conversion as the housing at the rear fouls the bulkhead, is this the same on the Avenger. Also is the exhaust manifold from an Escort or Anglia conversion. Sorry for being a pain. What ecu and carb kit are you running. Cheers mate, off to rip out the Talbot engine and box. Shame but so fragile. Paul.

Paul Use standard sump and will fit behind the xmember I run a standard ford type 9 (5 speed) but I would recomend a tran-x gear kit as I am now on my second box. Yes you need the water rail same as an escort and I am useing a bmw rad and slim lime fan. Useing the carb kit and ecu from chester sports cars good setup and its plug and play worth the money but some of the wireing is a bit poor. Manifold is Anglia not escort as it fits better. I sold my Avenger head and carbs that payed for most off the conversion. Need any more help just ask

Went to see this today, its an excellent shell, all repairs have been done to a high standard, apart from the rear wheelarch, which should be easy to repair, its an excellent project for someone not confident at welding, as all the usual rot places are solid, it looks better in the flesh.
if I didn't have 3 other projects in the same state, when I need it to be a runner, then it would be mine!

Putting lottery on in a bit, but can't believe it hasn't been snapped up already.
I'm guessing that if it's solid, it wouldn't need much work to return to the road, what state is the engine in, does it run?
