This isn't a very good thread. I'd prefer there not to be such unfriendly replies, but then I'd also like to see people with requests to make some effort * too. *Effort might include using punctuation and capitalisation, remembering that the majority of board users are grown ups (who don't randomly lol  ) or finding some pictures yourself to start things off. |

Replicas? Well, there are good ones and bad ones, but generally if they look like a production car but aren't, then they'll be a replica. Popular cars are AC Cobra's Lotus Sevens, Porsche 356 and 911's, Lambo's and Ferraris. Or they may be a replica of a certain type of car like a Cossack Escort. what happened with that merc? did they destroy it because they didnt like it or something? seen a story of one guy who turned an old 500sec or something like that into a SLR replica. wonder what happened to that . there was also someone who turned a honda nsx into a ferrari replica (cant remember what ferrari as it was years ago but personally I would have preferred it as a NSX. the old mr2 to 355 kit has been going for years now hasnt it. guess thats a replica EDIT: just found about that 300sl replica. gutted  |

That's a bit sad about that SL replica. Why would Mercedes sue though, there have been plenty of other replica Mercs made, haven't there? Unless the people that did it were trying to pass it off as a real one. That Mercedes thing is a bit galling when you see the horrendous finish on the alloy W196 rep and the horrible fiberglass version, both on display at M-B World at Brooklands.
That Aston looks like some pretty mega engineering though.
