i always look at these just as a car, and think how stunning it looks, but thats by modern standards, what boggles my mind is that when this car was new, so was stuff like this:  it must have looked like an alien spaceship in comparison!!! how did they come up with it?! soooo nice. |

Is this the Jag that was crashed in the 70's and the resto started in 1999 and took 10 years? Its an amazing car nonetheless.

never seen an E type like that but i must say its a vast improvement over a stock one why didn't the production ones look that good

That's the money shot right there. Those sensuous curves, but then studded with the lines of rivets. Utterly beautiful yet purposeful. |

No I don't think so. the one in the first post is 1000% better looking . I used to work on them and I really don't get the love affair people have with them. never liked the look of them or working on them . I have always found them awkwardly proportioned nose is to long wheels sit way to far under, to many fussy bits on them that just encourage rust, and I don't like the engines much either . the drop head is way better looking than the fixed head though as the screen has better lines but no sorry I just don't like them give me a tastefully but heavily modified one and I may like it more but it would need all bits mentioned changing first |

Wow, it looks very germanic very SL from the rear thats because it was modified by Germans for the 1964 LeMans race. hence the silver colour. it is known as the Lindner Knocker coupe. this car started life as a Lightweight roadster. aluminium bodied with aluminium engine block with wide angle cylinder head with Lucas mechanical fuel injection. very different to the normal E Type roadster. but imo not quite as nice as the Jaguar built Lowdrag Coupe CUT 7. CUT7 was built before the 12 aluminium bodied E types from thin gauge steel. 49FXN is another E Type aluminium roadster converted into a Lowdrag body. this one being designed by Dr Samier Klat. all three lowdrags are very different.  piston from 49FXN . i rebuilt the engine many years ago and kept an old piston as a momento. CUT 7 History you should know by now i get to play with therse cars for a living ;D |

I always thought this one was the prettiest of the bunch. CUT7 is nice, but the Linder car is just drop dead gorgeous.
