hi all can anyone help me settle an argument ? how far can a wheel and tyre stick out past the arch before the car will fail an mot??? cheers all

AFAIK, the wheel can poke out as far as you want, but the tread of the tyre must be covered by the wheel arches.

for the MOT, there is no requirement for the tyre to be covered by the wheelarch, nothing about them sticking out from the wheelarches either ;D mr Plod however, will take a dim view of a protrusion

Agreed. Mot and construction & use regs are two very different things
