Here we have my RX7 Elford Turbo up for grabs. I purchased this car 11 months ago from RX Motors in Dorset, It had been sitting in Tims Barn for 10 years and required a washer pump for the MOT, no welding or anything else structural/mechanical.
I drove the Car home, put it into a barn I rent and it has been sitting their now for 9 months, being driven round the yard on a monthly basis.....starts OK, and yes the engine is good, and the Turbo works as it should when required.
I have had various different types of RX7 from turbo cabriolets to FD's but this is the shape I always come back to. The 12A motor in these is the least stressed and the turbo is not 'over kill' at 160BHP but is an original Elford fitment from new including bodykit.
As can be seen from the photos the paintwork is not the prettiest, it looks as if the previous owner gave it a good load of turtle wax then decided to spray it....however as can be seen attcking it with 800, 1000, 1200 grit takes the top layer off and one can decide what to do with it, or drive as is with the rat look...
Side view, it does have matching alloys as per the rear, but the tyres could do with a change...
Rump shot...
Oily Turbo Bits
Horrible paint....
I also have a spare interior in grey, a front panel, various bits of trim and a spare set of doors, although the left door (spare) has a dented skin and requires beating.
The sunroof has some rust, and both doors on the car in the lower corners.....but if you want pristine....!
It would be a shame to break the car due to it's rarity as an Elford Turbo, but the engine would be quite fun in a Chevette or Old Skool J!
Please feel free to ask any questions if you are interested, I would recommend collection on a trailer due to the fact it has not been on a public highway for 9 months!
I may be interested in a P/X so feel free to let me know (my interests are wide and varied!), my main reason for sale is I have four other cars and feel the RX may stay in the Barn for another ten years unless someone takes it on.
