The Bell Aurens Longnose. Whilst I was doing some picture finding for my blog, I happened across some pictures of this magnificent creation. I soon realised that I actually have this picture in my photobucket and I'd always presumed was a photoshop, silly me, its actually a rendering of a real car. There are some details here, here and a video feature but I don't understand a word of German. However, this is a well shot feature, and, it seems to prove that its made to work on relatively rough stuff, not just cruise about on the black stuff. An 'off-roadster', eh, sounds good. Anyway, on with the pics... And, as a bonus, I found this while looking for more pics of the Longnose. Which lead me to this photobucket account and this creation... Theres loads of this stuff in that account, awesome skills so it seems. Anyways, enjoy.

I was looking for stuff on the Bell Aurens longnose a couple of weeks ago. looks like they were offering a 1500bhp version using a Rolls Royce Merlin engine, but I couldnt find if they'd made one. does any one know if they had? I did find a copy of their online brochure though, but looks like their website doesnt work anymore www.invictalandroverclub.com/BellAurens-Mediakit-E.pdf

That landy was clearly built with an equal amount of vision and skill. The result is an equal amount of awesome and win.

That is all kinds of awesome but listening to the commentary on the video my BSmeter was going haywire.
Looks very much like a more or less standard LWB chassis with a cleverly modded body, which of course would make it BIVA exampt...

I don't think so... They could not possibly hide it from the internet! ;D But I too remember they once intended to put an aircraft engine in there. Engine compartment certainly looks big enough to house a Merlin (or Meteor) Or was it two coupled V8s to make a V16? Something laong those lines...

This is an awesome idea! Love the look of it and the detailing, especially that 'boat-tail'. Surely this couldn't be too hard for an enthusiast to replicate? As suggested by fatbaldbloke, it looks like a standard chassis. So, just start with a 109 inch Series Land Rover, move the cowl back by about 18 inches and lengthen the bonnet and front fenders to suit. Job done!

What a great looking machine, and yep, some really nice touches there as well. Really nice to see something completely different for an old Landy! Bryn (and the new owner!) have competition

That's fabulous. Just the right colour for it too. Glad they didn't go for BRG. The gear knob is just the icing on the cake. What's going on with the handbrake though? Is it not running a landy back axle? That rear end looks so factory, what happened to all the regular layout boat-tailed landrovers?

Is it me, or does the boatail have more than a passing resemblence to a Kubelwagon?

Something that has jsut ocurred to me... might jsut be me being slow It's not a chassis chop, it's a LWB stationwagon with the front doors deleted, look at the doors: Might not need anything major doing to the chassis just move the bulkhead back...

What's the handle circled in green? Something to do with it being engineered to accept an aircraft engine?

Ratio lever? On a normal Landie that is where the low ratio lever sits.... I'd guess it's now RWD but kept the transfer box?
